Stockholm offers everything from fanciful to quiet walks along the shores of Lake Mälaren, food from near and far, multifaceted nightlife and cultural experiences. A mixture of sweet and salty, where my favorite is life in and on Lake Mälaren, or a walk along the mile-long lake near roads and paths. Stockholm is a city for everyone and has a life for everyone, whether you want to live in the city or in any of its suburbs. Stockholm, the capital of the Nordic region, offers you almost anything you want - if you dare.

Södermalm is my favourite place in Stockholm, its where i live and I love it for the action. It is also just a short bike ride away to the forest for relaxation.

My favorite area is Skeppsholmen, it has many museums and a devine view of the rest of the islands of Stockholm. You can find for example, the modern museum, the architecture museum Ark Desk and a lovely antique toy museum Bergrummet, Tidö collection of toys and comics. This is perfect for families or anyone interested in old toys like me. To access the island you cross the bridge Skeppsbron which has the royal golden crowns decorating the bridge. By taking a walk along the waterfront promenade Brobänken, around the island, you can see the magnificent island Södermalm, the oh so picturesque island Gamla stan. Along the way you can see the royal Djurgården with the main fair attraction Gröna Lund, and Östermalm with it's majestic, historical outstanding buildings. During the summer, you can pack a picnic with you and sit by the many different benches along the path around the island, and enjoy the views of the Stockholm skyline. During the winter time you can take the opportunity to visit the museums after which you can grab yourself a hot cup of cocoa, tea or coffee, whatever you prefer and go for a walk on this lovely island. It is indeed my little pearl in this big city.
